Each patient should have an ophthalmological examination with pupilary dilation to see if surgery is possible, in this manner any disease can be detected which might be the cause of the vision problem. For example a detached retina, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc. The cost for this is US$ 58.00. *

After the ophthalmological examination the patient must have a corneal topography evaluation (topographic map), corneal thickness measurement (pachometry). and morphologic evaluation of inner surface corneal cells, (Endothelium Specular Microscopy ). The Cost for these tests is a total of US$ 134.00 * ( both eyes included).

Each patient must have a blood test for HIV-virus, (AIDS) by a laboratory that we recommend here in Costa Rica. The cost is: US$ 18.00.
For Customized WAVE FRONT technology surgery, WAVE FRONT ABERROMETRY Test is needed. The additional cost is : US$ 50.00. *
